When Beyonce and Jay Z announced in January 2017 they were having twins, Twitter went crazy.

Not long after, the family welcomed adorable twins Rumi and Sir. This had us thinking; what other celebrities also have twins?

Queen Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their twins Rumi and Sir in June 2017. While we were all happy for their family, we were also wondering why those names?

Jay-Z later opened up to the Rap Radar podcast on why the twins were given those names.

He explained that Rumi was named after their favorite poet, and they decided it would be a fitting name for their remarkable daughter. Sir was like a man; he explained that he came out like a sir.

Denzel Washington and Pauletta Pearson

In 1991, Denzel Washington and Pauletta Pearson welcomed Olivia and Malcolm into this world. The twins have done a fantastic job in following in their parent’s footsteps. The two are also Denzel and Pauletta’s last kids.

In 2016, Malcolm graduated from the American Film Institute Conservatory, and Olivia has been featured in several films and television shows like Empire, Mr. Robot, and The Butler.

Speaking to Oprah, Denzel gave all the credit to his wife Pauletta when it comes to raising grounded kids who are not given everything they want just because they have rich parents.

Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance

In 2006, Angela Bassett and Courtney B. welcomed Slater Josiah and Bronwyn Golden into this world.

Much later in 2018, Angela Basset spoke on how her twins faced racism in school. The twins  had to deal with racism at the very young age of four while in preschool. 

They were treated differently because of the color of their skin. As a parent, Angela explained how this situation was difficult for her and her husband because this is something they never wanted their children to pass through.

The twins are teenagers now and collaborate in music.

Garcelle Beauvais and Mike Nilon

In 2007, the Jamie Foxx Show star and co-host of The Real and her ex-husband Mike Nilon welcomed Jax Joseph and Jaid Thomas. Ever since their split in 2012, the parents have been co-parented their kids.

Garcelle in 2014  wrote in a blog for People on how it breaks her heart when she hears her children say they are at mommy’s place and how they are constantly on her mind even when they are not around her.

She went on to talk about how co-parenting with her ex has been great. Garcelle explained how they both recognize the importance of their kids and allow each other to see the children even when it is not their turn.

Justin and Keisha Chambers

The Grey Anatomy star and his wife Keisha have five children, including a set of twins. In 1997, they welcomed twins Maya and Kaila.

In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Justin explained how there are no quiet moments in his house. They have to battle loud music, chaos, and crowds on a regular basis.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

In 2011, Mariah Carey and her multi talented entertainer ex Nick Cannon welcomed their twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe.

The gorgeous twins will be celebrating their 11th birthday this year.

More recently, Nick Cannon opened up about losing his 5 month old son to cancer.

Micheal Strahan and Jean Muggil

The former NFL player /TV personality and his ex-wife Jean Muggli gave birth to their twin daughters in 2004. Micheal spoke on how they had raised Sophia and Isabella and how difficult it was at first in an interview with People in 2017.

He went on to encourage parents, and he told them not to worry because eventually, children will learn how to take care of themselves. They get to become each other’s best friends and grow up so fast.

Sean Combs and Kim Porter

The rap mogul and his late partner Kim Porter welcomed a set of twins in 2006. When D’Lila Star and Jessie James turned 11, Sean Combs posted a sweet portrait of his beautiful girls on his Instagram page.

In 2018, Porter suddenly passed away from lobar pneumonia, which was a painful loss. In one of Sean’s eulogies, he said he wants his kids to know that their mom instilled a lot in him, and he vows to always be there for his kids.

Steve and Marcia Harvey

It might shock you to know that Steve, the famous talk show host, has two grown daughters who also happen to be twins. Karlie and Brandi are both 36, and Karli has a child of her own. In total, Steve has seven kids and has been married multiple times.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Andre Gray

On the 16th of August 2021, the Little Mix member and her finance asked for a miracle, and they were given two.

Leigh-Anne made her announcement public on Instagram recently after keeping it private ever since the delivery of their twins. The sex and names of their babies remain private. 

 

Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett

Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt became a father of twin boys in 2021. Thunderstorm and Saint Lea Bolt were announced on a Father’s Day Instagram post where three Thunderbolt emojis were added to the three different names of their children.

The couple, however, has not revealed the date of birth for their twins, and there are no pictures of the couple being pregnant, so it is next to impossible to get a specific date as to when the twins were born.
