On 18 March, Former U.S. President Donald Trump said the New York prosecutors might arrest him on Tuesday. He also said this would happen as the prosecutors consider charges relating to a $130,000 hush payment to a p*rn star.

On his Truth Social app, Donald Trump said that the news was from the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which was corrupt and very political. He also said that the reports indicated that he, the leading Republican candidate, would be arrested on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Donald Trump said no one had informed the former president of the United States of America about the arrest. Trump also provided no evidence for his claims of a leak from the D.A.’s office. The probe comes as he seeks the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

A representative for the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declined to comment on the issues. However, sources have said Bragg’s office has been providing evidence to a grand jury about the payment. Trump allegedly made the payment to a p*rn star, Stormy Daniels, during the waning days of his 2016 campaign. This was in exchange for her silence on her affair with Trump.

Since then, the billionaire has said the affair did not happen. He also said the investigation by Bragg, a Democrat, is a witch hunt.

The grand jury expects an additional witness familiar with the matter to stand before it today. The Republican speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives said the investigation was an abuse of power. He also said that it was the actions of a radical DA who released violent criminals in his vengeful pursuit against Trump.

On the other hand, Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Trump’s announcement was reckless. She also said he did it to keep himself in the news and create unrest among his supporters.
