Beyonce and Jay Z made major news recently when they purchased a massive Malibu mega-mansion for a record breaking $200 million. The home was the most expensive sale in California history.

But this house is hardly the first luxurious property the power couple have purchased.

We look at all the incredible properties Bey and Jay have bought over the years.

Beyonce’s First New York City Condo

Beyonce’s first home purchase took place in 2005, two years after she released her first solo album, Dangerously in Love. The property was a condo in Manhattan priced at $5 million. The condo is located inside the 44th floor of One Beacon Court skyscraper between Lexington and Third Avenue. The 2,669 sq ft condo has incredible floor to ceiling windows displaying views of central park and the world famous New York City skyscrapers. The property has 3 ensuite bedrooms, gourmet kitchen with custom cabinets, and a master bathtub with a view. Beyonce placed the condo on the market for $10 million in 2017.

Jay Z’s Tribeca Penthouse

One year before Beyonce got her condo, Jay Z purchased a plush Tribeca penthouse at 195 Hudson St. The penthouse later became the place where Jay and Beyonce held their intimate wedding in 2008. This seventh floor penthouse was purchased for $6.85 million. It boosts 8,000sqft plus 3,000sqft in terraces. It appears that Jay still owns this unit.

Beyonce and Jay Z’s New Orleans Home

The pair had a surprisingly hard time finding the perfect place to call home in the West Coast. In fact, they were outbid several times, once by Minecraft creator Markus Persson. So they opted to continue renting while looking for the one. Meanwhile, they nabbed a former church turned ballet school and later a residence in New Orleans in 2015. The 13,300sqft mansion was built in the 1920s in the Spanish Baroque style. It’s a 3 story building divided into a main residence and 3 separate apartments with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms total. This unique property was listed on the market for $4.5 million in 2021 but it’s unclear if it ever sold.

Beyonce and Jay Z’s Bel Air Mansion

Beyonce and Jay Z made headlines when they finally found an ultra modern mansion to call home in Bel Air in 2017. The property, purchased for $88 million, is made up of 6 separate structures measuring a total of 30,000sqft. It has 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 15-car garage, and a spa and wellness facilities. There is an additional 10,000sqft of outdoor living space made up of patios and terraces as well as 4 swimming pools. The 2 acre compound also features a full basketball court.

The property was a new build at the time and comes with bulletproof windows and glass doors. It was 2017’s highest sale in Los Angeles County. It’s been reported that the couple took out a $52.8 million mortgage to buy the property and make $252,000 payments every month. This mortgage payment is actually far less than the $400,000 they have paid in the past to rent a mansion in Malibu.

Beyonce and Jay Z’s Hampton Home

Bey and Jay bought another luxurious property in 2017 in East Hampton. The waterfront mansion has 7 bedrooms and 7.5 baths and a total of 12,000sqft. This one, known as Pond House, cost them $26 million.

The Hampton retreat was designed by Stanford White over 100 years ago and extensively renovated for two years by Jefferey Colle. Part of the renovation was rotating the house 90 degrees to improve the views from the living room.

Beyonce and Jay Z’s Record Breaking $200 Million Malibu Mega-Mansion

This 40,000sqft oceanfront mansion was originally listed for $295 million, which has some saying Jay and Bay got “an unbelievable deal.” And, believe it or not, it’s being reported that they paid fully in cash for the property.

The spectacular property was designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Ando is known for his ultra-modern minimalist designs have grown to become super popular with celebrities. His designs around the world have a cult following and there are less than 20 Ando-designed residences in the US, making his unique designs a rarity. Kanye West is a proud owner of another Malibu estate designed by Ando and Kim Kardasian is currently working on finalizing a design for a dream home designed by Ando.

The all concrete house is spread across eight acres and has floor to ceiling glass walls to take in sweeping views of the pacific ocean. It also comes with two differently designed pools.

But not everybody loves this cold, concrete design.

Fans have taken to twitter to jab at the look of Jay and Beyonce’s new home, some calling it a warehouse or prison.
