As Hurricane Harvey continues to devastate Houston and the surrounding areas, celebrities, businesses, and non-profit organizatins continue to rise up to the occasion by providing various support to the relief efforts.
The latest celebrities to step up are Jamie Foxx and Houston rapper Bun B. They are teaming up to organize a telethon that will be airing on September 12th on all the major networks. The telethon will take place at the same time in Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville. Bun B will be working with the organizers of Ariana Grande’s “One Love Manchester” benefit.
Jamie Foxx, a Texas native, has also donated $25,000 to GlobalGiving, a non-profit organization that provides a global crowdfunding platform for grassroots charitable projects. “Just wanted to let everyone in Texas know, we got you,” Foxx said through social media. “From a fellow Texan, my heart goes out. My prayers go out. September 12 we have a telethon that we’re doing. We will give you more details, so we can raise as much money as we can for everybody down there. ”
