R&B Legend Anita Baker Announces Her 15 City 2023 Tour Dates

The queen of “clean up” music is coming to a city near you! R&B legend Anita Baker announced the schedule for her 2023 tour. The Songstress tour will begin Feb.11 and end Dec. 22 with major city stops, including Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, and Los Angeles, CA. 

In the announcement statement, Baker shared she was looking forward to some crazy, lovely hang time with my fans. Gonna, bring some new music & some special guests, too.” The singer will be celebrating over 40 years of success within the music industry.

According to Rolling Stones, the tour marks her first official live tour since the assembly of farewell shows she performed beginning in 2018, the An Evening with Anita Baker concerts she played a decade prior. Her last full tour was in 1995.

The eight-time Grammy Award-winning superstar was born in Toledo, OH, and raised in Detroit, MI She was one of the most popular singers of soulful R&B ballads in the 1980s. Baker started her career in the late 1970s with the funk band Chapter 8, she then went on to release her first solo album, The Songstress, in 1983.

In 1986, she rose to stardom with the release of her Platinum-selling second album, Rapture, which included the Grammy-winning single “Sweet Love.” Baker has won eight Grammy Awards, four Platinum albums, and two Gold albums. Baker is one of the few contraltos in the music business, her vocal range extends her register to at least three octaves.
