Let’s face it, by now, most of us have heard about the term Cuffin Season. Whether it’s from artist such as Fabolous (“summer [girls] turning into winter wifeys” in his song “Cuffing Season”) or the countless memes on Instagram – #cuffingseason . The cuffing season is nothing new in 2017.
The term, which probably the vast majority of think of as a big joke, turns out to be a phenomena the science community has known about for a long time.

Dr. Scott Carroll, a physician and psychiatrist in Albuquerque, N.M., told Medical Daily, “Psychologically, we are also primed to seek mates in the winter. We also associate the winter holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) with family and partners, so we feel particularly lonely, then, on top of our evolutionary drive to seek connection in the winter.”
The dating app Hinge recently polled 1,000 of its active users, and asked at which months they are most interested in finding a casual hookup, a date, or a relationship. They found that men are 15 percent more likely to be looking for a relationship in the winter than any other season, while women are 5 percent more interested in something more committed during those months.
So now that we know there is actually some truth to the term Cuffin Season. I wanted to give you my reason why you might want to cuff you and black woman and consider keeping her long after.
Black Don’t Crack
Melanin, the pigment that gives your skin and hair its color, affects aging. The higher you fall on the Fitzpatrick scale, which categorizes skin tones according to numbers 1 (for very fair and prone to sunburns) to 6 (for very dark skin that rarely burns), the more melanin your skin contains. African American women comprise 14% of all businesses in the country owned by women, which tallies to around 1.3 million businesses. These Businesses employ over 300,000 workers and generate an estimated 52.6 Billion in revenue.
Black Women Come in Every Color and Speak Many Different Languages
Most of you guys have probably not really sat back and thought about how many different varieties there are when it comes to our beautiful black queens. You have Africans from Africa in general, with each country having its own look. Then you have African American, Afro Latina, Afro Mexican, and 50.7% percent of the population of Brazil identify as Black. They speak English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and every other language under the Sun.
Black Women have been receiving degrees at a higher rate.
A study by the National Center for Education Statistics reports that Black women have been obtaining degrees at a high rate. Sixty-eight percent of associate’s degrees, 66 percent of bachelor’s degrees, 71 percent of master’s degrees and 65 percent of doctorate degrees awarded to black students during 2009 and 2010 were awarded to black women.
Black Women are Funny
So far in 2017, Girls Trip, a movie staring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall, and Tiffany Haddish, is the only comedy to gross over a 100 million dollars that is not a cartoon. And if you have watched the movie, you know how funny black women can be.
Black Women are Athletic
For the second year in a row, it looks like Serena Williams will be the highest paid female athlete in the world. With 86% winning average and 23 Grand Slam titles, in 2016 she earned an estimated 28.9 million dollars. In the 2016 Olympics, Black Women earned gold medals in 15 events. If they had been a nation, they would have been in sixth place. This despite being a population of only about 19.6 million, they would be only the 67th most populous nation in the world, according to the Huffington Post
Black Women Don’t Mind Taking Control

So there it is. Some of my top reason for why I will be looking to Cuff me a black girl for Cuffin Season this year. Whether you need someone who’s strong, beautiful, intelligent, or can make you laugh, black women incubus everything a man / women could hope for when picking a good partner to get them through the winter.
