‘Black Panther’ Becomes Only 3rd Movie To Hit $700 Million At US Box Office

If you think Black Panther is done making history, you are wrong. Just over this past weekend, the Marvel blockbuster became one of only 3 movies in history to ever hit the $700 million millstone at the US box office.
Although released back in February and out now on Blu-ray and DVD, Black Panther is still playing in some theaters around the country. According to Forbes, the movie earned $12,000 on Thursday on 15 screens and $16,000 on Friday. Those days brought the total up to $699.985 million. The weekend helped cross it over the $700 million mark.
Back in February, the movie opened to $242 million over the four day Presidents Day weekend. So far, it has grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
So, what are the other two movies to hit $700 million? Avatar earned $760, 507,625 while Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought in $936,662,225.
