The sexuality of Sean Combs, aka Diddy, an iconic hip hop mogul and producer, has been a subject of controversy for a while. People have been asking the question – “Is Diddy gay”?

For over a decade, hip hop heads and pop culture fanatics have been speculating about
Diddy’s sexuality. Although Sean Combs is yet to officially deny or confirm the rumors of being gay, as time goes on, it appears the rumors are getting stronger and stronger. The recent lawsuit filed by singer Cassie that Diddy settled has further dragged his name and more rumors into the headlines.

1. Curtis Jackson (AKA 50 Cent) Has Always Made Jokes of Diddy

Being Gay

On several occasions, rapper 50 cent publicly called Diddy “gay”. In fact, when the “Many Men”
rapper appeared on The Breakfast Club, he said “Diddy is fruity”.

Diddy has always been the epicenter of 50 Cent’s gay jokes for years. For instance, in 2014 the G-Unit rapper posted a separate photo of Sean Combs with Rick Ross and Steve Stout to give the impression that Diddy could be gay.

About 3 years later, 50 Cent circulated a photo of Sean Combs with Lee Daniels, a gay film
maker. The photo also pushed the narrative that hip hop mogul may be ‘fruity’.
Whether Curtis Jackson is joking about Diddy being gay or not, his comments also fuel the
controversies around Diddy’s sexuality. Jokes and comments like this will alway make
people ask the question – “Is Diddy Gay”?

2. Diddy’s Verse in “Hope” a Song by Independent artist Blood Orange

Blood Orange, an independent artist featured Diddy in one of his song “Hope”, a track that later brought Blood to the limelight. Diddy’s lyrics and some of the scenes in the music video gave the impression that Diddy may be gay.

For instance, in one of the scenes, two men were seen embracing passionately.
And his lyrics on the songs raised a lot of questions about his sexuality.

3. Diddy Once Said He Battled Depression Which Further Fueled The Gay Rumors

In 2020, Sean Combs posted a video on his verified instagram that got a lot of reactions
from fans. The hip hop star stated in the video that 2019 was a crazy year. Although it was
great for some, it was a hard year for him.

The video sparked lots of reactions and comments. His fans were advising him to come out
of the closet, to live his truth. That it was okay for him to come out and admit he was a gay
man.

4. Homophobia is Common in Hip Hop

Sometimes, Hip hop artists who are gay tend to hide their sexuality because of extreme homophobia in Hip Hop. And this may be Diddy’s situation.

long been part of Hip hop. This explains why even if a powerful rapper like Diddy is gay, he wouldn’t want to come out of the closet.

5. Wendy Williams Also Claimed that Diddy is Gay

Just like 50 cent, Wendy Williams also claimed that Diddy was gay on several occasions.
The former loud mouthed Radio disc Jockey in New York frequently insinuated that Diddy is
gay.

However, the former Queen of Urban gossip later reconciled with Diddy in 2017 when he
appeared on her show.

When Diddy appeared on Wendy’s show, she admitted to have pissed a lot of people off
including Diddy. She further stated that it was a full-circle moment that everybody should get
into adult conversation.

6. Diddy Never Deny or Confirm the Rumors

Up till this moment, Diddy’s sexuality is a topic that never goes away. It keeps coming up like
a recurring decimal. People keep asking – is Diddy Gay?
From 50 Cent insinuations about him being gay to Wendy Williams inference on her show,
Diddy never denied or confirmed the rumors.

He has every opportunity to deny or confirm these rumors, but he never did. In fact, when
Sean Combs attended Wendy show, it would have been a perfect opportunity to debunk all
her insinuations and claims that he was gay; but he never did.

So, it’s difficult to directly answer the question: Is Diddy gay?

But what’s even more important is that Diddy’s sexuality is nobody’s business but his. He actually doesn’t have to confirm or deny anything.
